If you receive a traffic fine, there are number of ways in which you can make the payment.
It is important to know who has fined you. Apart from DGT, it could be a City Council or an Autonomous Community. You must always go to the body that has penalized you.
If you pay it within the ‘periodo voluntario’ that is mentioned on the fine, which is the first 20 days since the fine has been issued; it is possible to benefit from a 50% reduction.
You can pay a traffic fine:
- Online (Debit or Credit Card) via the DGT website with or without Digital Certificate or Clave Pin. Or through the QR code that is included in the document.
- miDGT application.
- By calling 060.
- In-person at your provincial traffic office (Debit or Credit Card).
- Post office.
- Visiting any office or ATM of Caixa Bank (you can pay in cash).
